How to Replace Rear Ball Bearing Hub of a Scion xA xB
Просмотров 46 тыс.9 лет назад
With simple tools you can replace the rear ball bearing hub of a car. The original factory bearings go bad and dry up at about 70k miles. I did this for a 2005 Scion xA and a 2006 Scion xB with rear drum breaks. The repair was cheap under $100 for both rear bearings.

How to Clean Motorcycle Brake Lines
Просмотров 14 тыс.11 лет назад
This brief video demonstrates how to clean old blocked motorcycle brake lines or a brake hose, by using the inner copper wire of a coaxial cable. Other equipment used are a razor blade, a vice, air compressor, phosphoric acid, brake cleaner and WD-40. Brake lines are expensive especially for older bikes; and they may not even fit your old master cylinder and fittings; which means you will have ...

Does it help to just keep spinning the container of phosphoric acid around & around like you did? Is that the secret?
Ha I am doing the same bike with the same problem.
I think you dont need to remove that bolt back of the motor.
I stopped watching honestly when you said this is connected to the axle😢
I just saw one at the Barber museum restored , I think it was my favorite bike I saw , thanks for letting me hear It run.
you are a smart mth $#@!...awesome iv tried everything but that....too too kool bro...thanks

Hey nice work, I came here after searching "dr125 baja build". I hear they are xr100 copies
You were lucky they were not rusted in. My 2004 xA has 165k miles. The hubs were very hard to remove. I had to use an impact chisel to separate the unit from the mounting flange. PB Blaster was my friend too.

Where did you fine the new parts from
yes
The misssssst! 😂 I cheered at the last "mist". Dig the passion man! 🤙🏻
Could you ever find a maintenance manual for this bike? Or at least on very similar? I have this bike and it needs tons of work, but I’m new to all this. I believe it’s a Chinese copy of another kind of bike, even the manual for the original would be great.
I hate the fact the only chip is second gear on mine, so I have to buy an entirely new drum
Lug nut torque is 80 ft-lbs. Great video, really helped me. Just let me say that "weight of your body" could produce over torqueing. Also, one should always wear a mask when doing any work on brakes - your Covid N-95 mask is good, but a proper respirator is best. Thanks.
Thank you, so much, nine years later : ) ... Your thoughts were mine, exactly, about the logic and efficiency of rehabbing my existing 1980 brake lines. The tips that you shared, were used. All of them. Thank you for the clarification, and the points that you made, in so much detail. Nobody has this out, on-line, like you do. Thanks again.,
Lug nuts are supposed to be torqued to 83 pounds on this vehicle!
Do you know how many coils the stator has?
Wow that looked really easy for you! My son has been hammering at the hub assembly for almost 3 hours and it will not come out. Any ideas?
Always a dream of mine to do a cross country trip on an old harleybeaitiful bikes
Any way I can messages you direct ? Need some help
Did this today, both sides. Video was vet helpful, thank you. Definitely helps to use penetrating spray on bolts before removing them. Back wheels were very noisy, now quiet like a new car. Thanks again.
hope you finish

I have the same bike just a 2001. Do you know where i can find a manual for this bike? I need one
Not gonna lie If you didn’t already have all those tools and materials it’s just cheaper to buy $100 bike lift from harbor freight
What happen if it making clunking sound when you break. What does that mean?
WD - 40 FIRST ON EVERYTHING MY FRIEND...
Great Tutorial. This is the best idea I've seen in a while. Thanks
I got mine free
Yea well it won't come out , I had to use a big ass chisel and hammer and beat the backing plate off the axle and the bearing stuck in the backing plate still..hanging on the hangar so the brake line dont break.. because of rust.. you guys and your clean ass vehicles this never works. Because of rust.. I have no idea how to get it ou tg without breaking the brake line off and getting it o n a bench and pressing it out . What's your ass answer to that.
I'm doing this on my 2002. How did you disconnect the other end of the wire that goes into the clutch cover? How did you disconnect the chain, by the rear wheel or just take the front sprocket off? How heavy is the engine and was the center stand high enough to get the engine out? I suspect it's not.
Wow, must be the same model of video camera that films all of the bigfoot sightings! Hmmmm.....
Black video informative but you left out one important part how did you take the gears off the shaft cuz that's the problem I'm having
C clips
He man, do you know where a could get a clutch for a bile like that I need a new clutch but i dunno where to find one, need your help
Same here
@@noahmahoney1178 I found a place where you can find some
@@jaydenhofer3747 where is that?
A website call Monster Scooter Parts. I also have a phone number fore the manufacturer of the parts for the Baja DR bikes
@@jaydenhofer3747 ok thankyou
I was told i couldn't. Use auto manufacturers spec. Engine coolant for my scooter. Just a thought. Any comments ???
Thanks for the awesome demonstration. I just got 2002 honda shadow vlx 600 with 10k miles. Planning on going through all the maintenance steps. And as you said CHEAP way. To put bike on stand... Thats my main goal. I already have jack stand and 2ton jack and strips.. Confidentially
Lancing wire works too, but ensure you round the end!
Awesome video! Thank u.
With 185K on my 2004 Scion xA, it was due. Went down without a hitch because you provided a look ahead at the process. Thank you. Ready for the next 100K.
When you refill the radiator and the reservoir with coolant, the bike should be in vertcal position or in the side stand engaged? Thank you.
My apology, in the begining, i didnt notice that the bike is raise up and in the vertcal position. Thanks
Great video hope i do well with the engine rebuild. I am presently in the process of building a 1981 Suzuki GS 550, i am subscribing to your channel, please check out my on going build. Thanks. ruclips.net/video/bJTrjnqIspk/видео.html
American people doesn't knows what is a simple brush. They knows chemicals and electrical tools
The common problem with this bike iy Ts same. Bad fork and bad drum In my zx-6e 1994
Hi does anyone have the torque specs for the motor? Would be much appreciated.
Good video information but for the love of god shut your mouth when you chew gum. Sounds like 2 pigs rootin.
Did you torque the hub bolts on both the xA and the xB to 46 ft/lb; and where did you find that info? Thanks! I have the '06 xB.
It was nothing more than a bike with a motor
Oh but it’s so much more than that
I found a barn bike that was sitting for years but was complete. Don't know how long since it ran. Bike had 5600 miles on it should I rebuild it or try and get it to run? Its out of the bike right now so I can really test it. Any info is appreciated.
Any engine needs 4 things to start and run: compression, air, gas and spark. What I would do is: 1) test for compression 2) test for spark 3) clean the carburetors 4) get her started. Last, after you get her running check for any air leaks.
Thank you for your reply. I came upon another question I was hoping you could answer. IS there a place to get rear swing arm bearing for a 1981 Suzuki GS650G? I cant find anything online.
@@isjones2112 I was able to replace mine. You may want to also look for bearings for the GS650 or even the GS750. Sometimes it's the same bearing. However, before doing so make sure you compare if they truly are the same by looking at the part number. Google "suzuki parts house" and start from there.
Thanks for the info! I have brake question. I took the rear brake apart and the pistons were stuck in the caliper. I got them out and cleaned it all up. There is a very small piece of rust on the piston. Do you think I should replace the pistons or can I do just the seals
@@ianjones5872 if it is surface rust you can scrape off the rust with 500 sand paper. use 1200 at the end to smooth it out. if the rust is very deep and is causing pits then you'll need a newer piston.
